The Gyal who Jerks...
I fell in love with cooking when I was 8 years old. My mom would be in the kitchen and I would be right at her side. Mom's food was great and I knew I could come up with my own twists on her style. I took culinary classes at 13 years of age and continued learning about food, beverages and events by completing my bachelors degree in hotel management.

To solidify my passion for the craft, I wrote and published a cookbook entitled "Vegetarian Cooking, Jamaican Style" at the age of 23. Throughout the years I have learnt a lot from executive chefs within the hospitality industry and I have also mastered the art of event management. I believe that details matter just as much as creativity and that is why teaching my kids about Jamaican culture  is of utmost importance to me.

My mom taught me to work hard and always do my best, and her advice has never failed me. As a mom, wife and professional, This journal will help me share my story through food, family and culture.
